RESOLUTION #17

I RESOLVE to guard my tongue that no unwholesome language would spew forth.  I RESOLVE that my language would be full of love and encouragement and contain no gossip or resentment.

As words have the power of life and death (see Proverbs 18:21), I must be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry (see James 1:19).

My prayer:  "Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips."  (Psalm 141:3)
